My life has officially been taken over by the Benedum program! I never imagined my life could possibly get this busy. I leave at 730 in the morning, and don't return home until 9:30 sometimes. It is slowly but surely killing me. Anyway on a different note, I found out that I will be completing my 4th grade "collaborative" placement at the end of week 11. I have conflicting feelings about it. I am sad because I love the teachers that I work with, as well as the students in the class. However, I am excited because I will get to experience an entirely different placement that will benefit me as well. I have been continuing to work with the student that will be in my new placement, so I am glad to continue building my relationship with her. I have learned some really awesome things from my current host teachers. Watching them work with the children has completely made me reevaluate the way that I approach teaching. They are kind and patient and always looking out for their students, including their former students. They have also reassured me that this is definitely the profession for me. I look forward to getting out into the real world and having my own classroom to work with. I will certainly use what I have learned from them in my own room! I now have contract hours coming up that I need to think about, so hopefully I can incorporate this classroom into some of those hours.
While your placement has certainly required you to be flexible this year, I think that it has been very beneficial for you. The fact that you have undertaken each phase with such enthusiasm and dedication has added to the elements of success.
Sorry these comments are late...but we were thrilled to have you and now that you are not there all the time the kids constantly ask about you. You are certainly missed! Thank you for stopping in and checking on us!
